Water is Fine
This is a down to earth garden tip from Martin’s Pet and Garden Center.
It’s summertime and flowers are blooming, but how do we keep blooming and looking good?
If flowers are in a container or hanging baskets, they should be checked for moisture a couple of times a day and water if needed.
Plant food is essential for plants growing in containers as daily watering soon leaches many of the nutrients out of the soil.
Monty’s Plant Vantage root and bloom plant food can be given to plants weekly. It can be applied when watering or sprayed on the leaves. Fertilome’s Blooming and Rooting soluble plant food, with a 9-58-8 formula, is a high phosphate formula which promotes larger and more blooms.
If you have hard water, Jack’s Classic Petunia Feed with micronutrients is good to use, especially for iron hungry annual flowers like petunias, verbena, vinca and salvia. Jack’s Hydrangea Blue plant food enhances flowering hydrangea and produces darker green leaves.
